Context:
The Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program is an Amazon led initiative where people can start their own delivery business, and partner with Amazon as their client. Amazon chooses who they'd like to partner with based on their core values, if successful Amazon gives them guidance throughout the process to start their own business and how to run it. It is very similar to a franchise structure.
Problem:
The program historically relied on the website as the only channel to gain information, apply, and to find out more about the business opportunity. The website was mainly text, and our prospective DSPs were spending an average of 4 months doing research and trying to understand the program before applying. This was common across all our regions across the EU.
Solution:
As part of a wider strategy piece I carved out for our brand, we were focusing on building a foundation of content around the program that would be available to prospective DSPs and allow for the majority of information upfront, as well as multiple resources to cut down research time from 4 months to 1 month. Research shows the most engaging content for complicated explanations are videos.
In the interest of scalability, time and money, I built relationships with our counterparts in North America and got buy in from them to work on a collaborative project. With limited resource and headcount on my end, I was able to secure an animator from another team to work on this project, and create animations for these videos. This allowed for the work to be done quickly, and at no cost from our EU budget. I purposefully took the animation approach as it allowed for quick scalability globally which is what made our North America counterparts interested, and we were able to truly localise the video to multiple languages to be used across multiple countries. So far, these videos are showing the most levels of engagement, and subscription, on our Youtube channel.
